Halong Bay is definitely worth visiting, but, according to many travelers, only once. It is one of the seven new wonders of the world, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and its landscapes with thousands of rocky islands, caves, and lagoons are truly breathtaking.

However, it's important to consider several nuances. First, reality may not match the promotional photos: instead of traditional sailing boats, tourists are transported on large motor vessels. Second, safety on some boats leaves much to be desired—incidents occur due to the wear and tear of the vessels.

To make the trip interesting, choose tours with a rich program: visiting Sung Sot Cave, landing on the beach, Monkey Island, a floating village, and kayaking. If the program is sparse, there's a risk of simply spending several hours on a boat without vivid impressions.

Also, consider the weather: the best time to visit is April-May and September-October, when there is no scorching heat or heavy rains.
