Does Bangkok Metro operate at night?

Bangkok Metro does not operate at night. All types of metro close around midnight: BTS — until 00:40, MRT and ARL — until 00:00, monorail MRL — until 00:00. The first trains start running from 5:30–6:00 in the morning.
If you need to travel late in the evening or at night, use alternative modes of transport: taxis, tuk-tuks, or buses. Taxis in Bangkok are available around the clock, but be prepared for traffic jams in the evening hours. Also, some night buses run on main routes, but their schedule may be irregular.
When planning your trip, consider the metro closing time to avoid finding yourself in an inconvenient situation. For example, if you are returning from the airport late, it is better to book a transfer in advance or use a taxi.
Important: metro tickets are valid only on the day of purchase, and if you do not manage to exit before closing, you may face a fine. Always check the schedule on official websites or in apps.
