What is the difference between security control and customs control

These are two completely different stages of inspection at the airport, and they should not be confused.
Security control (or aviation security) is responsible for ensuring that items threatening the flight and passengers do not get on board the aircraft. They check both carry-on luggage and you yourself using metal detectors and scanners, and checked baggage with X-rays. Their rules are uniform for all airports and airlines and prohibit carrying weapons, explosives, liquids, etc.
Customs control is responsible for compliance with laws on the import and export of goods, money, and valuables of a specific country. They check whether you exceed the limits for importing alcohol, cigarettes, whether you are carrying items prohibited for import (for example, electronic cigarettes to Thailand) or large amounts of cash. Simply put, security ensures the plane doesn't explode, while customs ensures you don't break the country's laws.
