Can alcohol be brought into Sri Lanka?

Yes, but with restrictions. Without paying duty, you are allowed to bring in no more than two bottles of wine and 1.5 liters of spirits per person over 18 years old. Alcohol purchased in duty-free is also counted in this allowance. Alcohol can only be carried in checked baggage, except for sealed bottles from duty-free in hand luggage. Also note that cigarettes cannot be imported without paying duty.
