Is Telegram currently working in Vietnam?

In early July 2025, Telegram in Vietnam started working again without VPN applications. Whether this is related to an update of the app itself or the lifting of the block by Vietnamese authorities, we don't know for sure, but from our own experience, we know it works.

In May 2025, Telegram in Vietnam was blocked due to refusal to cooperate with the authorities. Therefore, currently, the messenger can only be used via VPN. You can install one of the free VPNs from app stores or purchase an app, after which Telegram in Vietnam will work. Just be cautious when turning on VPN, especially those downloaded from third-party sources. Some may be fraudulent or simply steal your data, so if possible, turn them on only for using Telegram and then turn them off.
