In Indonesia, and in Bali in particular, gasoline is labeled not by octane numbers like 92, 95, 100 as we do, but by brand names Pertalite, Pertamax. Here are the prices:

  • Pertalite – equivalent to 90, costs 10,000 rupiah/liter, which is approximately 0.625 US dollars.
  • Pertamax – equivalent to 92-95, costs 12,500 rupiah/liter, which is approximately 0.78 US dollars.
  • Pertamax Turbo – improved 95, costs 14,000 rupiah/liter, which is approximately 0.875 US dollars.

Motorcycles can be refueled with Pertalite, but Pertamax is better.

The prices mentioned above are the minimum prices at branded network gas stations in large cities. At non-network or private "bottle" gas stations, it costs 2,000-5,000 more.
