In short – first of all, go to the T.T. Exchange chain, and if you're in Jomtien or on Pratumnak, check out the exchangers near Rom Pho Market and Cash & Go. In our personal experience, these three spots most often offer a better rate than banks and most street exchange booths in Pattaya.

We've checked them more than once – at different times of day and on different days of the week, so we can recommend them with confidence. The difference between exchangers can be 1–2%, and on exchanging $1000 that's already $10–20 of real money. Here's how our favorites compare:

Comparison of the 4 best exchangers in Pattaya
Exchanger Area Rate (relative to T.T.) Old dollars Opening hours
T.T. Exchange All over the city Base (benchmark) ✔ Accepted at the same rate 09:00–21:00 (varies by branch)
Superrich (green/orange) Central Pattaya, Terminal 21 Often slightly lower than T.T. ✔ Accepted, but there may be nuances 10:00–20:00 (in the mall)
Rom Pho Market Jomtien Sometimes 0.1–0.3 baht higher than T.T. ✔ Accepted, rate may be lower Until 18:00, weekdays
Cash & Go Pratumnak Often 0.1–0.2 baht higher than T.T. ✔ Accepted, check Until 20:00, daily

T.T. Exchange is our benchmark: the chain has many branches all over the city, and you can check the rate in advance on the official website https://ttexchange.com/. The exchanger near Rom Pho Market sometimes gives a rate even 0.1–0.3 baht per dollar higher than T.T., but it only works until evening and not always on Sundays. And Cash & Go on Pratumnak in 7 out of 10 of our checks showed a rate higher than T.T. at the same moment.

Our lifehack: before you go, open the T.T. Exchange website and note their rate. If another exchanger offers a rate no worse by at least 0.1 baht – exchange there, without wasting time and gas traveling around the city.

A detailed breakdown of all the spots, directions, and tips on how not to lose out on the rate – in our honest guide 4 places in Pattaya where we exchange money at the best rate. We recommend reading it before your trip.
