The ferry from Pattaya to Koh Larn takes approximately 40–60 minutes one way. If you are in a hurry, take a speed boat — it will get you there in 15–20 minutes, but it costs more: from 150 baht at the pier and from 200 baht from the beaches. The regular ferry will cost only 40 baht per person, so most tourists choose it.

All ferries depart from Pattaya's main pier — Bali Hai Pier, located in the southern part of the city, at the beginning of Walking Street. On the island, boats dock at two different piers: Tawaen (right on the beach) and Na Baan (in the village with hotels and markets). The travel time is roughly the same regardless of where you are heading — expect about an hour.

Important: on the ferry, seasickness is common, especially in windy weather. If you are prone to motion sickness, it is better to take a motion sickness pill in advance.

Ferries run strictly on schedule, the first departure from Bali Hai is around 7–8 in the morning, the last return from Koh Larn is around 18:00. In high season, boats sometimes leave earlier if they fill up with passengers, but in low season (May–October) there may be fewer departures. Those who miss the last ferry should not panic: speed boats leave from the piers and beaches until late evening, though the extra cost will be significant.

Our tip: for the return trip, arrive at the pier at least half an hour in advance, or better yet an hour — this way you will definitely catch the right departure and return to Pattaya calmly.

The main Bali Hai Pier is easy to find by the marker on the Pattaya map. You can get to the pier on foot, by songthaew, or by taxi.
