Which pier on Koh Larn is better to sail to and which one to choose for relaxation?

There are two piers on Koh Larn where ferries and boats from Pattaya dock: Tawaen and Na Baan. If you are going to the island for just one day and want to immediately be on the beach, feel free to choose Tawaen Pier. It is located right on the popular beach of the same name: you get off the boat and within a couple of minutes you are already lying on the sand. If you plan to stay for several days, rent a motorbike, or are looking for budget hotels, it will be more convenient for you to arrive at Na Baan Pier — it is located in a fishing village where all the main infrastructure of the island is concentrated: accommodation, shops, cafes, and the night market.
Please note: you can arrive at one pier and leave from another. For example, dock at Tawaen, spend the day on the beach, and in the evening leave from Na Baan. This is convenient if you want to combine beach relaxation with a walk around the village and also see different parts of the island.
Short tip: for a day trip, choose Tawaen — there are sunbeds, cafes, and all the tourist infrastructure. For staying on the island or traveling by motorbike, focus on Na Baan.
Ferries run to both piers on schedule, and the ticket price is the same — 40 baht. Speed boats have no schedule, but they also dock at these piers. The most convenient departure point from Pattaya is the main pier Bali Hai, which is located in the southern part of the city at the beginning of Walking Street. You can get to Bali Hai Pier itself on foot, by taxi, or by tuk-tuk (songthaew) — details and a map of the piers can be found in our article.
When returning, do not be late for the last ferry: from Tawaen it usually leaves around 17:00, from Na Baan — around 18:00. If you miss it, speed boats will save you, but you will have to pay extra.
To get your bearings, here are links to maps of the piers: Tawaen Pier on the map and Na Baan Pier on the map. Also, if you wish, you can first arrive at one pier and then use another on the way back — just ask the ticket attendant which pier your desired departure leaves from.
We have described in detail how to get to Koh Larn, compared ferries and speed boats, and analyzed transport on the island itself in our reliable and honest guide: How to get to Koh Larn from Pattaya: ferries, schedules, prices, piers, and transport on the island.
