From Bangkok to Pattaya, the most convenient way is to take a regular bus from the Eastern Bus Terminal Ekkamai. It is located near the BTS Ekkamai station, in the central part of the city. Buses depart at least every hour from 05:00 to 23:00, the ticket costs from 148 baht plus 20 baht for luggage. Travel time is about 2–2.5 hours. They arrive at the North Pattaya Bus Station, and some routes – at the Jomtien station. You can check the current schedule and prices on the official website of the carrier pattayabus.com.

The second option is the Northern Bus Terminal Mo Chit. It is located near the Mo Chit BTS metro station. Departures from 05:00 to 18:00 every hour, ticket from 158 baht. Across the road from the main terminal (via the pedestrian bridge) there is a minivan station Mochit – from there, vehicles also often go to Pattaya, you can board them on a fill-up basis.

There are also private minivans from travel agencies that depart from the Khao San Road area and other tourist spots. Usually, the ticket must be purchased in advance at the travel agency, and either you will be picked up from the hotel or told where to go. It is a bit more expensive, but more convenient.

If you are traveling from the center of Bangkok, the best option is Ekkamai. There you can buy a ticket right before departure, the ticket offices are open from early morning. Just keep in mind that during rush hours the journey can take up to 3 hours due to traffic jams.
