What is the difference between the observation deck on Pratamnak Hill and the hill with the Big Buddha in Pattaya?

Pratamnak Hill and Big Buddha Hill are located nearby, but they serve completely different purposes. Pratamnak Hill is primarily an observation deck with panoramic views of Pattaya and the Gulf of Siam. People come here for photos, sunsets, and simply to admire the city from above. There are no temple structures here, except for the monument to Prince Chumphon, which is a shrine for sailors, but not a Buddhist temple in the classical sense. The hill also has a park, the letters "PATTAYA CITY", and a cafe.

Big Buddha Hill is a religious complex with a huge statue of Buddha and a panorama that also opens from its territory. People usually go there for excursion or pilgrimage purposes, to see temples, statues, and soak in the atmosphere. Dress code requirements are stricter there – closed shoulders and knees are mandatory, and this is enforced. The view from Big Buddha is also beautiful, but it is more towards hills and jungle, while from Pratamnak you get the best view of the coastline, beaches, and Bali Hai Pier.

Many travelers combine both hills in one visit, as walking between them takes about 20–30 minutes. We recommend doing the same: first go up to Pratamnak (it is closer to the sea), and then walk to Big Buddha. Both points are free, but each has its own atmosphere and photo opportunities.
