Is it worth going to Pratamnak Hill in Pattaya or is it just an overhyped tourist spot?

Definitely worth it! Pratamnak Hill is not just a tourist spot, but a truly beautiful place where you can see all of Pattaya at a glance. We climbed up there ourselves and believe it is one of the must-visit locations for a first introduction to the city. The view from the top is so impressive that it is used for all the promotional brochures for a reason. Even if you do not plan to stay long, just go up – take a few panoramic shots and leave; it will take no more than half an hour.
On top of that, there are other interesting things on the hill: a monument to Prince Chumphon, revered by Thai sailors, huge letters “PATTAYA CITY” for photos, a well-maintained Pratamnak Park with jogging tracks and exercise equipment, as well as a small cafe with ice cream. Entrance to the viewpoint is free, so it is easy to come here just for a walk. Local tour operators often include the hill in free sightseeing tours, but getting there on your own is not difficult – by songthaew from the center it costs only 15 baht, and by taxi about 100 baht.
The only nuance is to choose a time with good weather, when the sky is not overcast, otherwise the panorama will not be as impressive. It is best to come in the morning or at sunset, when the light is especially beautiful. If you are doubting whether it is worth spending time – believe me, it is worth it.
