How to get a tax refund (VAT Refund) for purchases in Pattaya?

In Thailand, you can get VAT refund (about 7%) when departing if you purchased goods worth at least 2000 baht per day in stores with a "VAT Refund" sign. To do this, ask for form P.P.10 at the register (show your passport). The goods must retain price tags and packaging. At the airport, before checking in your luggage, go to the tax refund office (usually in the departure area).
Important: services, food and alcohol are not eligible. Also, the refund does not apply to goods purchased at duty-free (they are already tax-free). It is best to apply for a refund on large purchases (electronics, branded clothing) at Central Pattaya, Terminal 21 or Central Marina.
A complete step-by-step guide with photos and a list of required documents is in our instruction VAT Refund in Thailand: how to get up to 7% back.
