Shakuran Waterfall is perhaps the most interesting and attraction-rich waterfall in Abkhazia. It is located 40 kilometers from Sukhum along the Military-Sukhumi road. You can only get there by your own car or with a tour; public transport does not go there. Entrance to the waterfall is free, but if you want a guide, their accompaniment will cost 500 rubles on site. Excursions from Sukhum cost from 2500 rubles. The main feature of this place is not just one waterfall, but a whole canyon with a group of waterfalls, including the Bride's Veil waterfall, as well as two caves (Lower and Upper Shakuran) and a mystical boxwood forest. The route is of medium difficulty, with steep trails and stairs, but it leaves unforgettable impressions. More information can be found in our article About Shakuran Waterfall.
