How long is the visa-free period in Thailand now, 30 or 60 days?

Contrary to widespread media reports that Thailand reduced the visa-free period from 60 days to 30, at the current moment tourists are still given 60 days visa-free, no changes have occurred (verified personally, see photo with stamps from our last trip).
The information spread by so-called "expert" media and Telegram channels over the past six months that the period has already been reduced from 60 days to 30 is actually a fake. The fact is that reducing the visa-free period is indeed being discussed in Thailand, and in May 2026 there was even a statement by the Thai Cabinet about the final decision to reduce the visa-free stay from 60 to 30 days for tourists from 93 countries, including tourists from Russia, but there is no official and documented change yet. That is, there is neither a final official decision nor dates for its implementation, only statements so far.
Nevertheless, we advise you to monitor the situation, especially when planning a long trip in advance for the next six months or more. We are also monitoring the situation, and as soon as the dates of changes and transition period become known, we will report it in our updated article about the visa to Thailand here β https://nashaplaneta.net/asia/thai/viza-v-tailand
