Lake Ritsa is located in Abkhazia, 60 kilometers north of Gagra, on the territory of the Ritsa National Park. The road from Gagra takes about 1.5–2 hours one way due to the serpentine and stops at viewpoints. The lake is situated at an altitude of 950 meters above sea level, surrounded by the mountain peaks of Agepsta, Atsetuka, and Pshegishkha.
To find Lake Ritsa on the map, look for coordinates: 43°28′ N, 40°32′ E. The only road to the lake passes through the Bzyb Gorge, past the Blue Lake, the "Maiden's Tears" and "Man's Tears" waterfalls, as well as the Yupshar Gorge. Entry to the park is paid — 700 rubles per adult, children under 8 free.
You can see the exact location of the lake and plan a route on our map of Abkhazia with attractions. All key points along the way are marked there: parking (200 rubles for the whole day, located 600 meters from the embankment), viewpoints, waterfalls, and Stalin's dacha.
If you are driving, look for signs "Ritsa" — the road is asphalted but with sharp turns. Public transport does not go here, so the most convenient option is a personal car, taxi (from 6000 rubles per trip with waiting) or group excursion from 1300 rubles per person.
