The David Beckham Temple, officially known as Wat Pariwat Ratchasongkram (or simply Wat Pariwat), is one of the most unusual Buddhist temples in Bangkok. Its main feature, for which it got its popular name, is its unconventional decoration. Unlike traditional Thai temples, the ubosot (main prayer hall) of Wat Pariwat is adorned with sculptures and murals depicting world-famous personalities and fictional characters.
Among them, you can see a gilded statue of footballer David Beckham, installed in 1998, as well as images of Che Guevara, Barack Obama, Albert Einstein, Superman, Pinocchio, and characters from Star Wars. Additionally, the temple grounds have access to the Chao Phraya River, where you can feed a huge number of fish and pigeons. The temple is open daily from 08:00 to 18:00, admission is free, but donations are welcome.
