Getting to the National Museum Bangkok on your own is very easy, as it is located in the very center of the city, on the Rattanakosin Island. The museum is situated between the tourist area of Khao San and the Grand Palace, so it is easy to walk from these places. Here are a few ways:
- On foot: If you are in the Khao San area or near the Grand Palace, you can walk to the museum in 10-15 minutes.
- By taxi: From other areas of Bangkok, a taxi ride by meter will cost no more than 200 baht.
- By boat: You can use the regular boats on the Chao Phraya River. You need to get off at Tha Chang or Phra Athit pier, from where it is a few minutes' walk to the museum.
- By bus: Many buses go to the museum, including routes 3, 6, 9, 30, 33, 43, 53, 59, 64, 65, 70, 80, 82, 91, 123, 124, 203, 503, 507, 524.
We have detailed the routes and provided a link to the map in the article National Museum Bangkok.
