Unfortunately, very little time is allocated for visiting the Pyramids of Giza during a standard group tour from Hurghada β€” only about two hours. This is barely enough to take a few photos and quickly walk around the main points.

How the tour usually goes:

  1. The bus enters the complex and makes several stops at different pyramids.
  2. At each stop, you have 15-20 minutes to get out, look around, and take pictures.
  3. The highlight is a stop at the "Panorama" viewpoint, which offers a view of all three pyramids. You need to walk another 5 minutes to get there.
  4. It all ends at the Sphinx, where you are also given very little time.

Many tourists complain that two-thirds of the time is spent on transfers and gathering the group, rather than actually contemplating the ancient wonders. If you want to spend more time on the Giza Plateau without rushing, we recommend considering a private tour. It costs more, but you manage your own time and are not dependent on the group.

We described the timing of our trip in detail and gave tips on how to see the most important things in the article: Cairo and the Pyramids from Hurghada.
