What to see in the Batu Caves besides the main cave?

The Batu Caves complex is not just one cave, but several locations. In addition to the free Main (Temple) Cave, tourists can visit interesting paid cave attractions and other sites:
- Ramayana Cave — 15 ringgit. The most spectacular of the paid caves. Inside, you'll find colorful illuminated scenes from the Indian epic Ramayana, stalactites, stalagmites, and even artificial waterfalls. It's more of a beautiful entertainment than a religious site.
- Villa Cave Art Gallery — 10 ringgit. A small cave with murals of the god Murugan, a pond, a mini-zoo, and photo zones. Suitable for a leisurely walk and selfies.
- Snow Cave — 10 ringgit. An unusual attraction for those who want to experience -7°C in the tropics. Essentially, it's a cave-refrigerator with ice.
- Statues. Be sure to notice two giant statues: the 43-meter golden statue of the god Murugan near the stairs and the green statue of the god Hanuman (monkey), next to which is the entrance to the Ramayana Cave.
- Street temples. At the foot of the hill, there are other colorful Hindu temples that can be visited for free.
The Dark Cave, 2 km long and accessible only with a guided tour, is currently closed to the public.
We recommend visiting at least one paid cave to diversify your experience. A detailed overview of each location with photos and tips can be found in our guide: Batu Caves in Kuala Lumpur: A Complete Guide for Independent Travelers.
