Entrance to the main and most important Batu Cave (Temple Cave or Dark Cave) is completely free. It is an active Hindu temple, and no entrance fee is charged.
However, there are several commercial cave attractions on the complex grounds that require a fee. Current prices for 2026:
- Ramayana Cave: 15 ringgit (~$3.2). Inside β colorful compositions from the Ramayana epic, beautiful lighting and waterfalls.
- Villa Cave Art Gallery: 10 ringgit (~$2.15). Frescoes, statues, a fish pond and photo zones.
- Snow Cave: 10 ringgit (~$2.15). Attraction with a temperature of -7Β°C.
Beware of scams! When exiting the KTM station, touts may try to lead you to the paid Ramayana Cave, passing it off as the main one. Remember: the main cave is free, and it is reached by a large staircase with a golden statue.
Also keep in mind that appropriate clothing (covering knees and shoulders) is required to enter the temple area. If you don't have it, you can buy or rent a sarong on site for 15 ringgit.
