Yes, the Pudu Sentral (Puduraya) bus station in downtown Kuala Lumpur is operating, but its role has changed significantly. As of early 2026, it is NOT the main bus terminal for intercity routes. Almost all long-distance routes were moved to the modern TBS terminal back in 2015.
Currently, from Puduraya you can only go to two main destinations:
- To Kuala Lumpur Airport (KLIA and KLIA2). This is one of the most convenient ways to get to the airport from the city center if you are staying in Chinatown or Bukit Bintang.
- To the mountain resort Genting Highlands.
Important nuance: There may be no ticket counters at the station itself. It is recommended to buy tickets in advance online on bus company websites, for example:
- Starmart Express (to the airport): starmartbus.com
- Aerobus (to Genting): aerobus.com.my
- Or on the aggregator 12Go, where you can pay by card or cash via the 7-Eleven network.
On the way back, from the airport to Puduraya, you can buy a ticket at the airport ticket counters or from the driver.
Puduraya station is located in a very convenient place β on the border of Bukit Bintang and Chinatown (see on map). Next to the station is Plaza Rakyat (LRT metro), from where you can easily go to any part of the city.
