Can I buy tickets for Menara on site or do I need to book in advance?

Yes, tickets for the Menara TV tower can be easily purchased on site at the ticket office, on the day of your visit. This is its key difference from the Petronas Towers, where tickets are sold out several days in advance, and without prior online booking you risk not getting inside.

There is no such hype at Menara, so you can come, assess the weather (which is very important for good views) and decide on the spot whether to go up. The queues at the ticket office are usually small or non-existent.

However, there are also advantages to buying tickets online in advance:

  • Savings: Aggregators (e.g., Trip.com) often offer combo tickets (e.g., Menara + Petronas or Menara + transfer) that are cheaper than buying two tickets separately on site.
  • Convenience: An electronic ticket with an open date allows flexible planning of your visit. You buy once and can come on any convenient day.
  • Guarantee: You will know for sure that you have a ticket, especially during high season.

Important: When purchasing online, be sure to select the ticket category for foreigners (Non-Malaysian/International). Tickets for locals are several times cheaper, but tourists are not allowed in with them.

Thus, if you don't want to bother and are only planning to visit Menara, feel free to buy a ticket at the box office. If you want to save money and visit several locations, check out offers from online aggregators. For more useful tips on visiting, see our guide: Menara KL Tower in Kuala Lumpur.
