Getting to Menara (KL Tower) by public transport is not very convenient, as it stands on a hill away from the main transport arteries. Here are the main ways:

1. By taxi or via apps (Grab, AirAsia ride): The easiest and fastest option. A trip from tourist areas like Bukit Bintang or Chinatown will cost about 10-20 MYR.

2. On foot: If you are staying in the center, you can walk in 25-30 minutes from Bukit Bintang or Chinatown (about 1-1.5 km). From the Petronas Towers and KLCC Park it's about 2 km. Note that the entrance to the tower grounds is from Jalan Punchak, and from there a free minivan shuttles visitors up the hill.

3. By GO KL City Bus: This is a free tourist bus. Take the Purple Line and get off at the "KL Tower" stop. However, the route can be confusing for beginners.

4. By metro + walking/taxi:

  • To the monorail station Bukit Nanas β€” then walk about 1.5 km uphill.
  • To the LRT station Dang Wangi (Kelana Jaya line) β€” then walk almost 2 km.
Both options are not the most convenient, so it's often easier to just take a taxi.

From the airport (KUL): The best option is to order a taxi via app (about 70 MYR). Alternatively, take the KLIA Express train to KL Sentral, and then a taxi to the tower.
