Answer (changed )

Accommodation prices on Langkawi vary greatly depending on the area, season, and level of comfort. Overall, Langkawi is considered a resort for affluent tourists, but budget options can be found, especially if you book in advance.

Approximate price range for accommodation (not in peak season, in Malaysian ringgit):

  • Hostel dorm bed: from 30 ringgit
  • Room without air conditioning for two: from 60 ringgit
  • Room with air conditioning: from 80 ringgit
  • Comfortable room with air conditioning and amenities (3* hotel): from 150–200 ringgit
  • 4–5* hotel on the first line: from 400–600 ringgit and above
  • Luxury five-star hotels (Pantai Kok, Datai): from 600-800 ringgit and significantly higher.

Price comparison by area:

  • Lowest prices: in Kuah (administrative center). Hostels from 30 ringgit, 2-3* hotels from 80-100 ringgit.
  • Medium and high prices: in Cenang and Tengah. Wide range: from guesthouses for 80-150 ringgit to expensive hotels for 400-600+.
  • High and very high prices: in Tanjung Rhu (premium relaxation) and Pantai Kok (luxury hotels). There are practically no budget options there.

Important: In high season (November–March), as well as on weekends and school holidays, prices can rise significantly, and good options sell out weeks in advance. Book early.

Where to search and book accommodation: We recommend using trusted aggregators such as Trip.com (largest selection in Southeast Asia), Ostrovok.ru, Yandex.Travel, or Booking.com.
