Langkawi is an excellent island for a family vacation, with many natural and entertainment locations that will appeal to both toddlers and teenagers. Here are the top 5 activities for family leisure:

  1. Ride the cable car and walk across the sky bridge (SkyCab & SkyBridge). Children are thrilled by the ride on the world's steepest cable car, and the view from the suspension bridge at 700 meters high is something they definitely won't forget. For little ones, there are safe railings.
  2. Pet and feed animals at the Wildlife Park (Langkawi Wildlife Park). This is not just a zoo, but a place where many animals can be fed by hand (food is purchased at the entrance). There are birds, deer, rabbits, and a pond with fish. All paths are covered by a canopy, so you can walk in any weather.
  3. Swim at Durian Perangin Waterfall. This is the safest and most well-maintained waterfall on the island. A gentle entrance to the pool, a well-kept area, and picnic gazebos. Entry costs only 2 ringgit. A great alternative to the sea beach.
  4. See marine life at the "Underwater World Langkawi" aquarium. Located right on Cenang Beach, it's easy to walk to. At certain times, there are feeding shows for penguins, sharks, and other fish. Although it falls short of major world aquariums, children will still enjoy it.
  5. Go on a sea excursion Island Hopping. Children usually like the speedboat, the spectacle of feeding eagles from the water, and swimming in the freshwater Lake of the Pregnant Maiden on a neighboring island. The tour is not tiring and lasts half a day.

Also for children there are:

  • Splash Out Langkawi Water Park in Kuah city (adult ticket — 84 MYR, child ticket — 54 MYR).
  • Adventure X-treme Park with go-karting, ziplining, children's ATVs, and ponies.
  • 3D Art Museum Art in Paradise in the Oriental Village (included in the cable car ticket).
  • Laman Padi Rice Fields on Cenang Beach — you can see how rice grows for free and feed fish in the pond.

Main advice for parents: rent a car (from 100 ringgit/day). With air conditioning and the ability to take all children's things, moving around the island will be comfortable and safe. For more ideas and practical information, look in our guide: Langkawi Attractions: What to See and Where to Stay?
