How to get from Langkawi Airport to Cenang Beach?

From Langkawi Airport (LGK) to the popular Cenang Beach (Pantai Cenang), you can only get by taxi or rented transport. There is no public transport on the island.
There are two main options:
- Official airport taxi: The counter is located right at the exit from the terminal. You pay a fixed amount according to the tariff, receive a ticket, and go to the car. The price to Cenang is 25 Malaysian ringgit. This is reliable and convenient, especially if you have just arrived.
- Taxi via the Grab app: This is a local analogue of Uber. Prices here are often 1.5–2 times lower than at the official counter. To order, you need internet (you can use airport Wi-Fi or buy a SIM card immediately in the arrivals hall).
Life hack for saving on Grab: Do not order a taxi immediately after exiting the terminal, when prices are at their maximum due to the influx of passengers. Wait 10-15 minutes or walk about 200 meters towards the main road (to the right from the exit) — there the price in the app may become even lower.
Alternative — renting transport: If you plan to actively explore the island, it is most advantageous to rent a car or motorbike right at the airport. Rental prices here are often lower than at resorts. You can find a car from 50 ringgit per day, a motorbike — from 30 ringgit.
If traveling with children or a lot of luggage, you can pre-book an individual transfer that will meet you with a sign. You can order it with payment by Russian card, for example, on Kiwitaxi.ru.
