Erawan Waterfall (Erawan Falls) is the main natural gem of Kanchanaburi province and one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Thailand. It consists of seven cascades, and you can reach the top via a hiking trail.
Practical Information
Opening hours: from 08:00 to 16:30. Visitor entry stops at 16:30.
Admission fee: 300 baht for adults, 200 baht for children. Parking for a motorbike β 20 baht, for a car β 30 baht.
How to get there independently from Kanchanaburi: The waterfall is located 50 km from the city.
- By bus: From Kanchanaburi bus station, blue buses run every hour from 8 am to 17:20 directly to the national park entrance. The journey takes about 1.5 hours, cost 50 baht. Important: The last bus back departs at 16:30, and there may not be enough seats, so try to leave earlier.
- By rented transport (scooter/car): The most convenient option. Drive along road 3199. On the way, you can stop by the Rooster Temple, stone workshops, or the Nine Armies Historical Park.
- With a tour: Numerous tours from Kanchanaburi or even from Bangkok/Pattaya include a visit to the waterfall.
For exploring the waterfall and swimming in its natural pools, plan for at least 3-4 hours. Don't forget comfortable waterproof shoes for the climb, swimwear, and water.
