Where is the souvenir market in Kanchanaburi and when does it work?

The souvenir market in Kanchanaburi is located at the very beginning (or end) of the main tourist street Mae Nam Kwai, right next to the Bridge over the River Kwai. This is a very convenient location — after seeing the bridge, you can immediately go in for souvenirs.

Opening hours: Most shops and stalls at the market operate from 09:00 to 16:00. It is a daytime market and is not active in the evening.

Entrance fee: Entry to the market area is free.

What you can buy: This is one of the best places in the city for shopping. Here, there is a huge selection of souvenirs with Kanchanaburi and Thailand symbols: magnets, T-shirts, baseball caps, bags, handmade items, wood and stone jewelry. A special feature — you can find jewelry and precious stones (according to sellers, smuggled from Myanmar). Bargain!
