At Ho Chi Minh City Airport (Tan Son Nhat), you can exchange dollars or euros for Vietnamese dong in several places, and the exchange rate here is quite acceptable.

Where to exchange:

1. In the arrival hall of the international terminal T2: Immediately after passing through passport and customs control, you will enter a small hall. There are official exchange points there.
2. On the street when exiting terminal T2: Near the taxi stands and car rental counters, private money changers are around. They often offer a slightly higher rate than at official points, and you can bargain a bit with them.

The exchange rate at the airport is usually only 0.3-1.2% lower than at the best exchange points in the center of Ho Chi Minh City. For example, if the airport gives 25,200 dong per dollar, in the city you might get 25,300-25,500. The difference for a small amount (e.g., $100) will be insignificant.

In the domestic flight terminals (T1 and T3), there are generally no exchange offices, so if you have a transfer from an international to a domestic flight, exchange money immediately in the international terminal T2.
