The Incense Village (Huong Non Tram Huong Hue or Incense Village) is located right at the entrance to the Tomb of Tu Duc territory, even before the ticket counters. This is not a separate village far away, but essentially a street with shops that stretches along the road leading to the main entrance of the complex.

This place has become one of the most photogenic locations near Hue. The shops are filled with thousands of incense sticks of all colors of the rainbow, drying in the sun, creating incredibly bright and picturesque shots. Here you can also see how they are made by hand.

What you need to know:

  • Visiting the street with the shops is free. You only need to pay if you decide to enter the territory of the Tomb of Tu Duc itself.
  • This is an excellent place for photos. Even if you don't plan to buy incense, it's worth stopping by for atmospheric shots.
  • The village is located very conveniently, so it's easy to combine with a visit to the tomb. You can take photos first and then go to explore the complex.

Thus, when planning a trip to the Tomb of Tu Duc, you automatically get the opportunity to visit this colorful attraction as well. For more details about the mausoleum itself, opening hours, and how to get there, see our detailed guide: Tomb of Tu Duc in Hue: how to visit, opening hours and cost.
