Theoretically yes, but in practice this is a complicated and not the most convenient way to extend your stay. If you only have a Sinai stamp, you can exit to Israel through the land border crossing in Taba. However, upon re-entering Egypt, you will again receive a Sinai stamp, which will be valid for a new 15 days. This is the so-called 'visa run' (exit and return).

Important points:

  • Cost. You will need to pay fees for exiting Egypt and entering Israel, as well as possibly transportation to the border and back. In the end, this may turn out to be more expensive than simply obtaining a visa in Egypt for $25.
  • Time. Crossing the border can take several hours, especially during high season.
  • Passport stamp. Keep in mind that Israeli border guards place a stamp in the passport, which may later cause problems with visiting some other countries (for example, a number of Arab states). Often, upon the tourist's request, the stamp can be placed on a separate insert.

Conclusion: Traveling to Israel for a 'visa run' is a working but costly option in terms of money and time. It is much simpler and often cheaper to obtain an Egyptian visa directly on-site, in Sharm el-Sheikh.
