If you have a Sinai stamp (Sinai Only) in your passport and you decide to take an excursion to Cairo, Luxor, or the pyramids in Giza, you need to obtain a full Egyptian visa. Without it, you will not be able to leave the Sinai Peninsula—documents will be checked at checkpoints.

Doing this in Egypt is quite simple:

  1. Through a guide or travel agency. This is the most convenient way. Tour organizers usually help with visa processing for the trip. The service costs about 30-50 dollars.
  2. Independently at the airport. You can go to Sharm El-Sheikh Airport, find the passport control office (ask the staff), and obtain a visa stamp at the state price—25 dollars. You can leave a tip of a couple of dollars for the staff's assistance.

The obtained visa is pasted into the passport and extends your legal stay in the country to 30 days, counting from the original entry date.

We have detailed all the options in the article: What is the Sinai stamp. There you will also find information on how to avoid common scams when obtaining the stamp.
