The most convenient cities for buying a motorcycle are Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, as they host the country's main airports and many sales points targeting tourists.

• In Hanoi, look for motorcycles in the tourist area of the Old Quarter, especially on Pho Ma May Street. There is also a used motorcycle shop at Ham Tu Quan, 95. Outside tourist zones, prices may be lower, but there might be a language barrier.
• In Ho Chi Minh City, start your search in the tourist area around Ben Thanh Market. If you don't find one on the spot, ask for help at any hostel or guesthouse—staff usually know where to buy.
