Where is the temple tower in Sri Lanka?

When we were looking for this famous temple tower, we discovered that it is actually the Ambuluwawa Tower — a modern observation deck, not an ancient temple. It is located in the central mountain province of Sri Lanka, right next to the town of Gampola.

Exact coordinates

The tower stands on the top of Ambuluwawa Mountain at an altitude of 1086 meters. In our experience, it's best to navigate using a map: view the tower's location on the map.
