In Bali, popular taxi apps include Grab, GoJek, Maxim, and InDriver. They allow you to order both cars and motorbike taxis, which is convenient for quick trips through busy streets. Uber does not operate on the island, so these apps are the best alternative.

Grab and GoJek are the most common. Through them, you can order not only taxis but also food, courier services, and even massages. Prices in the apps are usually lower than those of taxi drivers at the airport or on the street, but they can change depending on the time of day and demand. For example, a trip from the airport to Kuta via Grab will cost about 110,000 rupiah (~521 rubles), while the airport taxi counter charges 120,000 rupiah.

An important nuance: at Bali airport, drivers from apps cannot drive right up to the terminal exit. For pickup, you need to walk about 100 meters to a designated point (see on the map). Also, there is a Grab Lounge at the airport where you can order a taxi without your own smartphone—just ask the staff for help.

Maxim and InDriver are less popular but sometimes offer lower prices thanks to a bidding system where you set your desired fare. However, these apps can be more difficult for beginners to use and are not always reliable.

To use the apps, you need internet, so use airport Wi-Fi or buy a local SIM card. Note that taxi drivers in Bali can be persistent, so always agree on the price before starting the trip and compare it with the app's indicators.
