To save on travel between Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang, use these methods:

  • Free shuttle bus — ideal if you are flying from 05:00 to 24:00. Show your e-ticket at the counter at the terminal exit, and you will be taken without payment.
  • City buses No. 554 and No. 555 — cost only 35 baht. But note that they do not run from the terminal, but from the bus station, which you need to reach by free shuttle (10 minutes). The schedule may change, so check it before your trip.
  • Metro with transfers — will cost from 250 baht, but if you are traveling light and familiar with the Bangkok metro system, this is a good option to avoid traffic jams.

For maximum savings, combine shuttle and buses, but always have a backup plan in case of flight cancellations. If time is more valuable than money, taxi or transfer remain the best choice.

Remember: by saving on transport, do not skimp on time between flights — at least 4 hours for the transfer.
