Do you need a license to rent a motorbike in Nha Trang?

According to Vietnamese laws, an international category "A" license is required to operate a motorbike. Russian international licenses (MVD) in booklet form are suitable and can be obtained through government services or MFC without exams. However, in practice, rental companies rarely check licenses, and police on the roads are almost never encountered.

When renting, a deposit is often requested—usually a foreign passport, but it's better to leave an internal passport. Sometimes a cash deposit of several hundred dollars is required. In hotels, conditions may be more lenient. All details, including refueling and parking, should be clarified during rental.
