Diveevo (Diveevo) is a small, but known to all the village, with a population about 9 thousand, a popular tourist and pilgrimage place. In the center of the village was a small Church, where pilgrims stopped on the way to the monastery of Sarov. In a short time has already built a stone Kazan Church in 1780, and then, having received the blessing, the villagers built the Church of the Nativity and Nativity of the virgin. Around the Church built a convent, one of four, which according to legend was under the patronage of the blessed virgin. One of the sacred events of Diveevo is that it houses the relics of St. Seraphim of Sarov.
A large number of pilgrims and tourists has helped the village of Diveevo to develop, not only as the center of spirituality, but as a village with good infrastructure. As in any tourist place, here you can buy Souvenirs, shop with them at every step. Most people bring Devaeva icons, Holy land, rye crackers is better to buy in temples, as they are sanctified. The villagers at the fair also offered to purchase jewelry from gold, silver, glass, a variety of magnets, boxes and trinkets.
Entertainment is not enough, as it is the center of spiritual rest. It hovers around a sense of peace and tranquility.
The disadvantages of this place tourists and pilgrims carry such as poor transportation (far from Nizhny Novgorod, it is difficult to reach), in summer a lot of mosquitoes, and most importantly, the commercial spirit has penetrated into this sacred place. For example, gasoline is more expensive there than in the villages of 10-20 km, and Souvenirs are in world capitals. Read more about the village of Diveevo here...
