The Funa fortress in Alushta, Crimea
Ruins of a medieval fortress Funa is located at the Western foot of South Demerdzhi in the vicinity of Alushta. Today there is a Museum under the open sky, a monument of archeology and architecture "Watchdog Funa", included in the list of objects of cultural heritage of Federal importance. Funa was of great historical importance, since in the Middle ages, a number of lay important trade route. The building dates back to the 1422-1423 years, but her age was quite short. And in 1475, the fortress, having existed for more than half a century, was almost completely destroyed by the Ottoman Turks.

🚶 How to get: Funa is located at the foot of the mountain Demerdzhi two kilometers from the village of Luchyste in Alushta's surroundings (the map). You can get here best from Alushta, because the only bus to the village is from here, but you can drive to the turn of the village on the highway Simferopol-Alushta on any bus or trolley and then walk or hitch-hiked 3-4 miles).
