The Republic Of Karachay-Cherkessia
Karachay-Cherkess Republic or Karachay-Cherkessia (Karachay-Cherkessia) is the subject and Republic in the South of Russia, North-Caucasian Federal district (Dombay on the map of the Republic). The capital city is Cherkessk.
Karachay-Cherkessia is located in the foothills of the North Caucasus, and most of it is mountainous. That is why here in the Soviet appeared popular ski resorts Dombay and Arkhyz, and in pre-Soviet times was established medicinal-climatic health resort of Teberda. These resorts are also attractive as a place pedestrian tourism, mountain climbing, snowboarding and other snow sports.
Today the main tourist resorts of the region, Dombai and Arkhyz - one of the most developed and popular ski resorts in the country. Of course, objectively they can't match infrastructure development with ski in Sochi, but the prices are lower.
