Marble mountain (Marble mountains)

Мраморные горы в Дананге

The marble mountains are located between Hoi an and da Nang is about 20 kilometres from Hoi an town and a few kilometers from da Nang. Marble mountain on the map.

The marble mountains consist of five stone hills. Before, when everything was covered with water, these mountains were Islands formed from marble. Each of the mountains represents one of the five elements of the universe and has an appropriate name: Thaison (Water), Moxon (Tree), Hooson (Fire), kimchon (Metal) and Choson (Earth). Within the mountains there are natural caves, in and around which were built Buddhist shrines and temples. Mount Thoison today is a popular destination with pilgrims.

Inside some of the caves are dark and may need a flashlight or time to adjust to the darkness after the blinding sun outside. Also in caves inhabited by bats.

For the entrance of the mountain there is a small charge of 15,000 VND (currency of Vietnam) (October 2010). At the entrance you can buy a set of postcards with the map (very beautiful postcards of some beautiful places on the mountains) for 15,000 VND. Card will come in handy while you're exploring the mountains.

At the foot of the mountains are two villages, known for its stone carvers. The most famous is the village of Non Nuoc beach, where you will find many shops with countless figurines, all sorts of figurines, jewelry and even utensils made of marble. So many products made of marble you probably won't find anywhere else in the world. The prices are more than reasonable, but you have to bargain, and sometimes very much. If you choose here any serious sculpture, then right here will be able to arrange delivery by sea anywhere in the world.

The Museum of da Nang (Museum of Danang)

Музей Дананга

Don't confuse this Museum with the Museum of Cham. The Museum of da Nang is something like our local history museums. It was re-opened and updated in a new place in April 2011, and in the future may become one of the most interesting places of the city, yet he is little known among tourists. Today you can see a lot of interesting things, but the popularity and fame he's still inferior to the Cham Museum, although it should be frankly admitted that it is much more interesting than the last.

The Museum is housed in a modern three-storey building, which was attached to the remains of a fortress built in the early 19th century. The Museum has more than 2500 exhibits in the form of photographs and vintage items. Some of the exhibition show the whole scene of life of the people of Central Vietnam. The Ho Chi Minh Museum and Museum of the 5th military zone

Like almost every major city of Vietnam, da Nang also has the Museum of the great leader Ho Chi Minh. The Museum traditionally presents documents, photographs and objects telling about the life of the President.

There is also another Museum (Military zone 5 museum or Museums Quan khu 5) dedicated to the defense of the fifth military zone during a confrontation between the French and the American-Vietnam war. The Museum consists of 12 exhibition halls and on the street exposed samples of major military equipment (tanks, planes, artillery, etc.) of French and American manufacture.

While every Vietnamese is my duty must be considered to visit the Museum of the great leader, for tourists, this Museum seems to be little interest. But the Museum of the fifth military zone more interesting to a wide range of tourists and is definitely worth a visit.

It is usually compared with the complex of Angkor Wat in Cambodia and the ancient capital of Thailand Ayutthaya, although the scope here is much more modest. More specifically, despite the great claimed the area and its historical significance, the ruins here are very few, and most of them almost nothing left except piles of stones, overgrown with grass.

Usually michonne depart from da Nang or Hoi an with a tour. But, besides the excursions, you can get there yourself, hiring a taxi for the whole day (about $20) or arriving in a rented transport. The Nui Son Tra Peninsula

Вид на полуостров Son Tra, Дананг

This Peninsula is known as "monkey mountain" (Monkey Mountain). He is considered one of the most interesting sites and attractions near da Nang, although, frankly speaking, whether in da Nang for any other worthy attractions of this place's attraction, no one would have remembered.

On the Peninsula is the mountain, on which there is an observation deck (former helipad), with views of the Bay and Hai Van pass. Also interesting and picturesque way along the road that encircles the Peninsula. Here is a few hotels and the beach. On the southern shore of the Peninsula, on a hillside, a giant statue of Buddha standing in a Lotus flower (Linh Ung) and the temple. This statue can be seen even from the marble mountains. The advantages of the Peninsula are exhausted.

To visit the Peninsula will definitely be interesting to those who know how to ride a bike and ready to travel on it on rented vehicles, but Hiking is not really much to do unless you are willing to do a 30-kilometer path around the perimeter of the island on foot. The ascent is quite steep and to overcome it you must have a motorcycle or notebook.

How to get there: the Peninsula on the map. To visit the mountain and a Peninsula in a rented transport.

Hours: around the clock, but it is best to visit the Peninsula during the day in clear weather.

Entrance fee: free

Buddha statue and temple of Linh Ung

67-meter statue of Buddha located in the biggest temple of da Nang's Linh Ung (full name Linh Ung Bai But Pagoda) is one of the symbols of da Nang and one of the biggest Buddha statues in Vietnam. The temple was originally built in the 18th century and was seriously rebuilt in the 20th century.

The place is well worth a visit, though to get here from the city is possible only by rented transport, taxi or tour. The temple is situated on top of a mountain on the Son Tra Peninsula, and, in addition to the inspection of the temple and statues, it offers a wonderful panoramic view of the entire city.

How to get there: the Temple is Linh Ung on the map.

Hours: around the clock, but it is best to visit the Peninsula during the day in clear weather.

The Mountain Pass Of Hai Van Pass

Вид по пути на перевал Хайван, Дананг On the road to the pass

Hai Van pass (Hai Van Pass) runs through the Truong Son mountain 30 kilometers North of da Nang at an altitude of 496 metres. Before using the pass held the only road their da Nang North to hue, Vinh, etc. in the direction of Hanoi, but in 2005 through the mountains was "drilled" the tunnel of Hai Van Pass Tunnel with a length of 6.2 km, and most of the traffic is now passing through a much more direct route through it. However, via a tunnel do not allow motorcycles and bicycles.

The pass come in order to admire the mountains and the South China sea landscapes. On the top of the pass, in the place where most tourists stay, organized a small market, you can eat in the café and climb back up the mountain even higher. But in addition to landscapes on the pass there is still something to see. A lot of defensive fortifications like bunkers left on the pass since the war. They can be seen up close. Many of them remain traces of bullets during attacks.

Be sure to get to the pass during your stay in da Nang may not be worth it, but if given the opportunity, to seize it should not be. Very often tourists ' pop ' on the way from hue to da Nang or Vice versa, if you choose a taxi ride not through the tunnel but over the pass, for which he will have to pay the taxi driver. Very easy to get here from da Nang on a rented motorbike, but the road need to be very careful as it is quite winding and steep. To visit it is better to choose a good clear weather.

How to get there: the pass is located 30 km North of da Nang (the mountain pass of Hai Van Pass on the map). Pass attend independently in a rented transport or on the way from hue to da Nang or back to the taxi.

Hours: around the clock, but it is best to visit the pass the day in clear weather.

Entrance fee: free

Sources Suoi Voi

Источники Suoi Voi, Дананг

These sources are located quite far from da Nang, more than 60 kilometers along the way in hue or in a national Park Batima. They are little known among tourists, mostly locals. Usually they visit in the form of a stop for rest along the way from da Nang to hue. It makes sense to combine a trip to the springs with a trip to the mountain pass of Hai Van Pass.

The area of the sources is quite large and consists of many framed stone pools of natural origin. They can swim (the water is not too cold), sunbathe, have a massage, eat, or drink beer, all for that there. Surrounded by dense forests on the slopes of the two mountains, between which and stretched the springs. The main pool is lined with rocks and resembles the head of an elephant, for which they received their popular name of "Elephant". You can go further from the Parking area and the main pool, and then you will get unequipped to natural pools where almost never anyone.

Hours: no information

Hot springs Nyon Phuoc (Phuoc Nhon)

These hot springs and mud baths are located at a distance of 25 kilometers from da Nang and attraction are not. But it's a wonderful place where you can mend your health, to relax and to get pleasure from the procedures. The complex is built on hot springs, gushing from the ground with a temperature of 55 degrees. Here is mine with mud, which are used for treatment.

There are several variants of procedures: hot mineral baths, mud baths, SPA, herbal baths. There is a restaurant.
