Attractions of Krabi province
Throughout Krabi provinceand its individual resorts scattered many interesting sights. To learn more about the places available to explore within each individual resort or city you can in corresponding sections of the resorts. Here we have gathered information about the most interesting attractions are scattered throughout the province, away from the resorts. For each attraction there is a detailed description, photos, information about time, cost and way to get.
The graveyard of shells
The graveyard of shells (Fossil Shell Beach) is a big rock slab at the coast, gradually disappearing under the water. This plate is formed from limestone and formed over many millions of years, its thickness is about 40 cm Nearby mangroves, where are the trails, and you can walk on the beach. Also here is a little conditional open air Museum with the samples of slabs and information.
The road to the Cemetery passes through the green Park with gazebos and benches, and leads to an office where there are almost no ushers and you can go free. Overall the visit to this place – a dubious pleasure, even given that it will have to go pretty far. And although the cemetery is located between AO Nang and Krabi town, actually have to do quite a large detour to get to it. Entrance fee: official entrance fee adult 200 baht, child 100 baht (see the money of Thailand exchange rate). Pay the entrance fee is optional, you can bypass the ticket office on the footpath nearby.
How to get there: located on the coast between AO Nang and Krabi town close to the pier of AO Nammao (Graveyard of seashells on the map Krabi). From AO Nang you can take the taxi route "Ao Nang – Shell Fossil Beach" (what it says on the bus) every day from 6 am to 5 PM. If you go by your own transport, you need to move in the direction of AO Nang, and then to turn off the road into AO Nang to the left, following the signs for Shell Fossil Beach
Aquarium in Krabi (Krabi Coastal Fisheries Research and Development Center)
To combine a visit to the Aquarium you can inspect the Shell Cemetery, which is a little further along the road after the aquarium.
This is actually not the attraction especially for tourists and research centre for coastal fisheries (Coastal Fisheries Research and Development Centre), so from the point of view of a tourist here, it looks somewhat neglected. There are several water bodies under the open sky, in which breed and study fish. Pass over bodies of water on the bridge. They are water dwellers, but because of the dark water nothing is visible, only when feeding appear the outlines of some animals.
The most interesting is under the roof of the pavilion with small pools and aquariums. And although the aquariums look dirty and unkempt (because no one cleans especially for tourists), they can see many interesting fish, shellfish, reptiles. This place will be interesting to both adults and children.

How to get there: the Aquarium is located on the road to the Graveyard of Shells (aquarium on a map of Krabi). The aquarium is right along the road and the entrance is easy to find on the figures of beautiful fish. You can reach it by taxi from AO Nang on the route "Ao Nang – Shell Fossil Beach" (what it says on the bus), Krabi town with a stopover in AO Nang.
Tiger cave (Tiger Cave Wat Tham Suea)
Tiger temple Wat Tham Suea (also Tiger's cave, Tiger Cave) - one of the most famous and visited attractions in the province, and certainly the most important temple.
In fact, it is a complex that includes many traditional temple buildings and statues; the staircase of 1237 steps to the top of the hill where the large statue of the seated Buddha; the monastery; the very tiger cave monastery; natural trail through the jungle. Living tigers in this temple is not usual.
The Foundation of the temple was a stone niche (cave) at the foot of the mountain, filled with Buddha statues and other Buddhist paraphernalia. One of the most interesting items in the temple is the stairs to the top of the mountain at an altitude of 600 meters and 1237 steps. Upstairs will offer you a breathtaking view of the province, and a huge Golden statue of a sitting Buddha.
If you walk a little further from the entrance past all the buildings, you can find the entrance to forest Park Khaokaeo Vipassana, which offers trails for Hiking, there are caves and monastic cells.

How to get there: the temple is 9 km from the centre of Krabi town (temple on a map of Krabi). Easiest way to get here in a rented transport, a taxi or a motorcycle taxi (100 baht), also many excursions in the province include a visit to the temple. You can also get on a red taxi from the Krabi town street Th Utarakit (this is the street along the waterfront) for 50 baht to the temple, or drive for 20 baht to turn to the temple on the main road and continue to walk
Emerald lake (Emerald Pool), Blue lake (Blue Pool), Hot springs (Hot Springs)
In a small forest area Khao Pra Bang Khram Wildlife Sanctuary is surrounded by several lakes, among which are the Emerald Pool (Emerald lake) and Blue Pool (Blue lake) and hot springs (Hot Springs). The water that fills all the lakes of the Park comes from a hot spring, so they have an unusual color and not all the lakes you can swim, only in emerald.
Also of interest are the flora and fauna of the Park. Around small streams, which are collected in a small lake. For closer acquaintance with the environment are organized Hiking trails.

Lang Rongrian Cave Cave
This is one of the closest to Krabi town limestone caves. It is known that there were excavations, during which they discovered many ancient artifacts and human skeletons, which are allegedly more than 37 thousand years. The cave is small, but interesting, hanging on top of bizarre rock formations.
In order to visit the cave, to come here and possibly not worth it, but you can drive on the road to the waterfall is Huay Toh Waterfall. And still, better to be a protective agent against mosquitoes, of which there are just hordes.

Huay To Waterfall
This is a powerful 11 cascade falls, one of the most beautiful and most famous in the province. Even in the dry season it is quite deep, so they could enjoy and make beautiful pictures. At different levels of the falls are natural pools for swimming, so don't forget to bring your bathing suit. Can the path along the waterfall to climb to the top, which offers a good view and there you can swim in the natural pool where tourists usually less likely.

How to get there: located on the territory of the national Park at Khao Phanom Bencha National Park is about an hour drive from AO Nang and Krabi town (the waterfall on the map Krabi). Can be reached only by a rented vehicle, taxi or as part of excursions in the national Park (900 baht).
National Park Khao Phanom Bencha
National Park Khao Phanom Bencha National Park in Krabi is formed on the slopes and around the mountain of Phanom Bencha height 1397м. The Park is small, with an area of 50kV.km.
It is open to tourists, and there is a view on that. Near the main entrance to the Park is the most beautiful waterfall Huay province and To several waterfalls. There are many rivers and streams, beautiful mountain views, clean rainforest. Can be found growing in natural conditions orchids. How to get there: the Park is about an hour drive from AO Nang and 40 minutes from Krabi town (Park on the map Krabi). Public transportation does not go there, can be reached by taxi, rented transport or tour (half-day excursions from 900 baht). If you are going to get yourself, it is easy to navigate by the road signs that will lead you straight to the headquarters and entrance to the Park.
Cave Khao Phueng Cave
The complex of caves Khao Phueng Cave or Tham Khao Pueng is located about a kilometer from the entrance to the national Park Khao Phanom Bencha National Park. The length of the largest cave is more than 500 meters and a full inspection will take about 3 hours. It is dotted with bizarre stalactites and stalagmites.
The cave is not equipped for the mass tourists, and it is best to bring a flashlight. Also in the cave a huge number of mosquitoes, use a repellent.

How to get there: the cave is located a few hundred meters from the entrance to the national Park of Khao Phanom Bencha. There are no pointers to it, and to find it, you will have to use the exact coordinates for navigation (cave on the map) or by local residents.
The Bay Of Ao Tha Len
Ao Tha Len Bay (also Ao Thalane) is an incredibly beautiful place and best for kayaking in Krabi province. Don't be afraid of difficulties: visit and kayaking on the Gulf is available in almost every tourist, special skills to control the boat is not required, even for children. And even if you are not ready for independent travel, it's easy to get a tour from any resort of the province. The most simple trips include a Shuttle from the hotel and kayaking in the company of a guide, more expensive include lunch, disembarkation, horse riding and so on, depending on the program.
Bay is a small, but deeply in the dry land by a narrow strip, so the water is almost always calm. Entrance fee: tours starting from 500 baht per person (half day) to 1500 (for a full day with elephant rides, etc.). It is possible to rent a boat without a guide for 600 baht
How to get there: located 20 km from AO Nang (the Bay on the map Krabi). It is best to visit the Bay as part of guided tours but you can drive yourself in a rented transport and is already in place to rent a kayak.
Wat Khlong Thom Museum and
Wat Khlong Thom would be unremarkable Church, like thousands of others in Thailand, if not in his eponymous Museum. The Museum shows ancient tools and objects discovered during the excavations of the ancient settlement in the vicinity of the temple and raised from the bottom of the canal Khlong Thom in a place where it is believed there was an ancient trading port on the route of ships between Asia and other world. How to get there: the temple and Museum are located about 50 kilometers from Krabi town on the main Phetkasem road (temple on a map of Krabi). You can reach it only by hired transport or by bus towards Koh Lanta and Trang. You can combine your Museum visit with a visit to emerald lake (Emerald Pool), because the turn in the direction of the pond located less than a kilometer to the Museum.
