Water skiing, surfing, sailing, Canoeing, Windsurfing, horse riding will interest fans of active recreation. Bentota water sports centre and one of the first coastal resorts of the former Ceylon. Calm sea (November to March), perfectly suitable for diving, attracts lovers of the underwater swimming and hunting. Beruwela is considered one of the first Muslim settlement on the island, here is Decimali – the oldest mosque.

South of Bentota stretches a wide strip of excellent beaches of Aluthgama, Induruwa, Kosgoda, where you can enjoy a fabulous vacation in the style of "bounty" - a heavenly nature, Golden sand and clean sea. The region is famous for good hotels, excellent local cuisine and a variety of marine life, attracting the attention of divers. In the heart of Kosgoda turtle nurseries are a tourist attraction with interesting and informative excursions.
Negombo is located 35 km North of the capital. There are plenty of great restaurants with excellent cuisine, where you can enjoy fresh lobster, crab, shrimp and local seafood. The water in the port city is not so clean as in remote areas of the island, but the beaches equipped and very comfortable. Negombo is rich in history and many ancient attractions. Here is preserved the old Church, the ruins of the Dutch Fort, the Buddhist temple in Kelaniya.
In the South is the small town of Hikkaduwa, which is called a Paradise for surfers and divers. Here good waves, long stretch of coral reef with exotic fish, sunken ships and a huge range of accommodation (from budget to luxury).

Ahungalla – a quiet, peaceful town imbued with Indian culture and unique local flavor, perfect for a relaxing family or a comfortable beach holiday.
Colombo is the largest city (with population over a million) and the actual capital of Sri Lanka. Here is the mosque Yami-ul-AFFA, the Presidential Palace, the Fort is in the old part of the city, museums with collections of historical artifacts. 12 km South of Colombo is mount Lavinia is a small resort town with good beaches, dry sand, small waves and clean water. Mount Lavinia – a great option for those who like to combine a beach holiday with sightseeing and entertainment of a big city.
Kalutara is a popular resort where you can witness the unique procession Navam. Under the draft roll of drums thousands of people are on the streets of the city, to touch the relics of saints, and relics exports on the back of a huge elephant.
Kandy is a beautiful city full of ancient sights, the main of which is the famous temple of the Tooth where the gold is stored under the canopy of the great relic – a tooth of Buddha.
Nuwara Eliya is the highest city surrounded by tea plantations. Here come the climbers, mountaineers, extreme sports lovers and anyone wishing to enjoy the fresh mountain air and taste the famous Ceylon tea.
Anuradhapura, located in the North of the island, holds a revered Buddhist Shrine, the sacred Bo tree under which Buddha rested and the Palace of Mahaprasad with magnificent architecture that has preserved the grandeur of the ancient city.
