Guide to Denpasar
Denpasar (Denpasar) – the largest city on the island of Bali in Indonesia, and the capital (administrative centre) of the island. The city is located in the South of Bali, is almost 10 kilometers from the nearest beach (Denpasar on the map).
For tourists, Denpasar is always at the hearing, since it is the major hub of Bali: through it pass almost all bus routes and roads from the southern resorts (these are the most popular places such as Kuta, Sanur, Seminyak, Nusa Dua) to the North in the popular village of Ubud, the volcanoes and other natural attractions. Buses from Java arrive at the bus station in Denpasar. Also Denpasar is the international airport of Bali, although it is located away from the city to the South, almost in the heart of the resort area.
But on the other hand, to do the ordinary tourist or traveler in Denpasar nothing. There are several museums, monuments and temples, and that all the interest ends. A beach holiday here, a cosy tourist area too.

How to get to Denpasar
As already mentioned above, Denpasar – the main transport hub of the island, but only for land transport. If you arrive on Bali by plane, you will reach the international Ngurah Rai airport (Bandar Udara Internasional Ngurah Rai), which, although known as international airport of Denpasar, is actually not in the city. Therefore, arriving by plane, you have to drive through town immediately get to the popular southern resorts of Bali.

In Denpasar by bus
In Denpasar and next to it is a few bus stations, each serving its direction and types of buses. They are located in different parts of the city, but to move between them by taxi from 7,000 rupees (refer to the currency of Indonesia, the exchange rate):
Ubung bus station
Located on the outskirts of the city in the North (a station on the map). This is the main bus terminal that caters to buses of far destinations, as well as minibuses (Bemo), the Western and Northern direction. Here arrive/depart:

Mengwi bus station
Located outside the city 12 kilometers from the city center near the town of Mengwi (the station on the map). Also serves the long distance bus directions. Almost all flights to Ubung bus station stop here. To get comfortable here, if you want to get to the southern resorts of the island and to pass the traffic jams of Denpasar, Mengwi but the resorts can only be reached by taxi. Ubung bus station from Mengwi taxis run from 15000 rupees.

In Bali there are no Railways, but at the bus station Ubung have cash Railways of Indonesia where you can buy a train ticket with delivery to the railway station in Banyuwangi on Java island by bus. You can buy tickets to Surabaya, Probolinggo, Malang, Jember and other cities in East Java.
